Nuremberg today

Today Ann-Marie and I drove to Nuremberg, which took us about an hour and 15 minutes to get to the old town section of Nuremberg. I just followed the city signs and found a place to park and we started walking without really any clue what we might see or do today. It was very lovely and I look forward to going back. We walked around in the cobblestoned pedestrian zones, listened to the street musicians, had some Nuremberger style bratwurst on brotchen (as per request by Ann-Marie the bratwurst lover). We walked a quite stretch of a path around the walled in area of the city and had some Italian Eis (ice cream), another ummm, uh hem, request from Ann-Marie.

This photo is of one section of the town, ahead you see the Dom. There was a big youth festival going on, with a rock band. And the street musicians...these guys are serious over here. Not just in Nuremberg, either. You see them with anywhere from 1 to 8 members, maybe all in matching suits, playing stringed instruments or horns. Just playing their music while all these people walk by, some stopping to listen and some listening nearby at an outdoor cafe. It really makes it a nice environment for sight seeing. Below are some links to look at regarding the historical city of Nuremberg and below are also some photos that I took during our day in Nuremberg.
